Is this young YouTuber really exposing massive fraud that politicians are ignoring?

CLAIM — 23-year-old Nick Shirley is doing great work exposing fraud in what politicians are failing to act on.[1][2]

VERDICT — PARTIALLY TRUE.

EVIDENCE — Nick Shirley is a right-wing YouTuber and self-described independent journalist (born April 4, 2002) who gained fame in December 2025 for a viral video alleging massive fraud ($ billions) at Somali-owned daycare centers in Minnesota, showing empty facilities receiving federal funds.[3][4][5] He followed with a March 2026 video alleging even larger fraud networks in California daycares and hospices.[2][6] His work prompted federal investigations and congressional testimony, though critics (e.g., state officials, Snopes) say no fraud was found at specific sites he visited, his methods are shoddy, and claims exaggerated.[7][3][8][9][10] On April 11, 2026 (post date), Shirley was 24 years old, not 23.[5] Kevin Sorbo (actor, conservative) posted this praise, likely referencing Shirley's ongoing fraud exposés; the attached image could not be directly viewed but aligns with prior Sorbo posts sharing Shirley's footage.[1][11]

SOURCE CHECK — @ksorbs is the verified X account of actor Kevin Sorbo; the tweet matches searches and was posted April 11, 2026.[1]

CREDIBILITY — 7 (Shirley exists and has spotlighted real fraud investigations, but age is inaccurate and fraud claims are alleged/ disputed).

CONFIDENCE — 10 (overwhelming corroboration from Wikipedia, news outlets, and Shirley's own content).

BIAS — RIGHT.
